I like the first month of the year. It means Ill soon be headed to the SHOT Show, where tons of new and interesting stuff gets introduced. But some companies are already busy getting new products in the pipeline, and here are a few interesting ones I think are worth noting:

Tac-Cons Fast Semi-Auto AR Trigger. Tactical Fire Control, Inc. has unveiled the Tac-Con 3MR Trigger System, which the company says will offer safe, controlled, match-grade performance in ARs with fast semi-automatic operation. The Tac-Com 3MR Trigger System is a drop-in, 3-mode fire-control system consisting of Safe, match-grade Semi-Automatic, and the Tac-Cons patented 3rd Mode of operation.

The 3rd mode provides a positive reset that reduces the split times between shots. The positive reset characteristic is achieved by transferring the force from the bolt carrier through the trigger assembly to assist the trigger back onto the front sear. As a result, reset is reduced. Both semi and 3rd mode positions feature a non-adjustable 4.5-pound trigger pull weight with zero take-up and no overtravel.

The Tac-Con 3MR is ATF approved and is not a NFA part. Each trigger is accompanied by a copy of the ATF approval letter. This is not a bump-fire system, and the shooter must pull the trigger once for every round fired. 3MR triggers are made using EDM and CNC manufacturing technology. All components are coated with NP3 (nickel Teflon) and each 3MR Trigger system is individually hand-tested for quality, pull weight, and function prior to shipping.

Arsenal Inc. Releases SM-13 AK Mount. This one-piece side-attaching scope mount for the AK variant rifles is a light-weight rigid scope-mount platform. The one-piece CNC precision machined SM-13 is manufactured from aircraft grade aluminum alloy and weights only 5.76 ounces. It provides a maximum-length Picatinny railing system for attaching top mounted devices, such as scopes, red dot systems, night visions, and magnifiers.

The over-7.5-inches-long Picatinny rail runs along the rifle, from the end of the top cover to the rear sight leaf, allows for attaching multiple devices at the same time or one device for the maximum eye relief. The SM-13 utilizes a steel adjustable locking mechanism that allows instantaneous attachment and release of the scope mount without any compromise to the accuracy and loss of zero.

American Tactical Introduces Tactical Shotgun Line. American Tactical Imports has introduced the TAC-SX2 and the TAC-PX2 tactical 12-gauge shotguns. Both the TAC-SX2 and the TAC-PX2 models have 4140 chrome-moly steel 18.5-inch barrels that are chrome lined. Both models come blued, a standard finish in tactical shotguns. The TAC-SX2 is a semi-automatic 12-gauge and carries an MSRP of $380, while the TAC-PX2 is a pump-action 12-gauge and has an MSRP of $300. We are very proud to offer such high-quality tactical shotguns at such an affordable price, says Joe Calabro, director of marketing at American Tactical. The quality and price-point surpasses any other tactical shotgun lines on the market today, making this the perfect product for budget conscious LE departments as well as a great choice for home defense.

Hot Shot Tactical P-Rail Light Mount. This is a universal fit system that allows the quick and easy placement of a light on any MIL-SPEC Picatinny rail. A ball knob and screw secures the mount to the rail. The mount is just as quickly removed by the removal of the screw and sliding the mount off the rail. A heavy-duty, round ball knob makes gripping on installation and removal easy, even while wearing gloves. No tools are used in either installation or removal of the mount. The P-Rail Light Mount body is made using ABS material. The P-Rail Light Mounts universal fit system allows the user to snap most 1-inch-barrel flashlights into the mount in a second or snap it back out for handheld use just as quickly, and works optimally with Hot Shot Tacticals new HS900 Illumination Tool, a single-mode high output light that delivers 900 lumens of illumination.
