Nosler, Inc. has announced the availability of Nosler Reloading Guide Number Six, featuring freshly fired data for the entire line of Nosler bullets. The new guide, at 832 pages, is a definitive and authoritative look at reloading, covering most aspects of the craft in extensive detail.
This greatly expanded book reflects the large number of new bullets introduced by Nosler in the last five years including AccuBond, as well as the recent proliferation of new factory cartridges. There are 117 cartridges featured in the book, which continue its tradition of introducing each cartridge with the personal experiences, advice and anecdotes of some of the world’s best-known hunters, shooters and writers.
Load data for each cartridge is presented in a graphic format, giving the reader a quick visual comparison of load velocities for each bullet weight. Nosler’s system uses simple, easy-to-read bar graphs to show velocity variation between powders, making powder selection faster and simpler than relying only on data numbers alone. Each cartridge’s data entry shows information for starting, intermediate and maximum loads for each powder listed.
The easy-to-use ballistics and energy tables are easy to reference for handloaders. Entries in the ballistic table are based on ballistic coefficient instead of individual bullets, allowing each table, in many cases, to suffice for multiple bullets. This format allows trajectory computations to be made more accurately than most shooters can shoot under hunting or field conditions and is user-friendly.
The energy tables are a matrix of velocities and bullet weights. To compute energy of a particular bullet at a given velocity, the reader simply cross-references the velocity and bullet weight to find the energy number.
Nosler continues to incorporate “Comments From the Lab” for many cartridges, a highly informative section that helps reloaders save time and money at the reloading bench. These pages are written by the Nosler ballistics team and provide valuable insight and advice for working up accurate, effective loads.
The Nosler Reloading Guide Number Six is available at gun shops and sporting-goods stores everywhere Nosler products are sold. MSRP is $24.99. For a 2008 Nosler and NoslerCustom catalog contact: Nosler, Inc., P.O. Box 671, Bend, Oregon 97709, 1-800-285-3701, www.Nosler.com.
