Smith & Wesson Begins Shipping Bodyguard Line with Integrated Insight Lasers

(GunReports.com) — Smith & Wesson Corp. has begun shipping the new Bodyguard 380 semi-automatic pistol and Bodyguard 38 revolver with built-in laser sights.

The Bodyguard 380 is chambered in .380 ACP and has a polymer frame with a black, Melonite coated stainless steel slide and barrel, and a double-action fire control system. Spex: 2.75-inch barrel, OAL 5.25 inches, unloaded weight of 11.85 ounces.

Other features: manual thumb safety, external take down lever and slide stop, integral INSIGHT® laser, slim-line ergonomic grip, stainless-steel drift-adjustable dovetail sights, 6+1 capacity.

Chambered in .38 S&W Special +P, the double-action only Bodyguard 38 is hammerless, carries five shots, has a 1.9-inch barrel, measures OAL of 6.6 inches, and weighs 14.3 ounces.

Other features: one-piece aluminum alloy upper frame, steel-reinforced polymer lower frame, and stainless barrel and cylinder. The stainless-steel cylinder is coated with a durable, non-reflective, matte black PVD finish for long term carrying and low light presentation. MSRP: $575.

Designed to accommodate both left- and right-handed shooters, the revolver features an ambidextrous cylinder release on the top of the frame and an ergonomic one-piece rubber grip. On the right side of the frame, the revolver carries an integral INSIGHT laser. It also sports a notch-style rear sight and a pinned black blade front sight. MSRP: $625.
