(GunReports.com) — BOGgear has just introduced a brand-new tripod, the BOS Series HD-3S Short Tripod, and the MINI-U Shooting Rest, a smaller version of the popular Universal Shooting Rest.
The HD-3S Short Tripod has a Switcheroo Shooting System, allowing the shooter to swap accessories in the field using the same platform. It sits atop three-section, beefed-up, lightweight aluminum legs. The 5mm leg tube sizes are larger than standard BOG-POD shooting platforms.
The legs adjust independently out to any angle up to 75°, with adjustable tension for better control of leg spread. Inch markers on middle leg sections allow the shooter to quickly reach a desired height.
It also employs the Universal Shooting Rest, which has a quick-change stem that swivels 360° and is rubber covered to prevent damage to gun stocks. The USR’s custom lever locks smoothly and quietly.
The all-terrain foot system uses rubber feet that screw up to reveal a steel tip for better grip on ice. The HD-3S may be used in the prone, sitting, or kneeling positions. It adjusts from 6″ to 42″ of usable height when legs are spread. Length when closed for carrying is 22”, and it weighs approximately 45 oz.
It includes a free carry bag and custom allen tool for tension adjustment of lever locks and leg spread. Retail price: $220.
The MINI-U Shooting Rest comes with a quick-change stem and is intended to be an alternate or replacement shooting rest for any BOG-POD shooting stick. The lower profile design (approximately 1″ shorter) than the Universal Shooting Rest (USR) will rotate 360 degrees on a quick-change stem.
It’s made of high-strength ABS plastic and is rubber covered to prevent damage to gunstocks. It weighs 2.5 oz. Retail price: $25.
