Joe Woolley is one of the Contributing Editors for Gun Tests Magazine and lives in the Houston, Texas area. He is currently a full-time firearms instructor, teaching, primarily, at
American Shooting Centers in west Houston. He shot competitively in the
United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) for 32 years achieving Master classification in three divisions. He shot an additional two years of competition in the
Precision Rifle Series until old knees told him it was time to retire. Joe is an
NRA Training Counselor, holding certifications to instruct in six different disciplines as well as being a Regional Counselor for the NRA’s
Refuse to be a Victim class. He is also certified in Texas as a License To Carry instructor and has been active as an instructor for over a decade working with, literally, thousands of students over that time. He began his college career at the
University of Texas at Austin, completing a BBA in Marketing at the
University of Houston and having been named to the National Dean’s List.
