The Best Christmas Present Ever for M11/9 SMG Owners

(GunReports.com) — For those GR users who also happen to have machine-gun licenses, here’s a fun item for your MAC-11 380 ACP open-bolt submachinegun.Tactical Innovations, Inc., of Bonners Ferry, ID, has an AM15 full-auto upper receiver for the M11/9 SMG that allows you to shoot unmodified .22LR American 180 drums, in either 165 round, 220 round or 275 round capacity on your full auto M11/9 machine gun host receiver. The full-auto AM15 upper receiver conversion is a full-auto-only open-bolt drum-fed .22LR rimfire caliber conversion that ejects out the bottom. It works only on M11/9 machineguns.Craig Wheatley of Tactical Innovation said, “Most folks don’t understand that they already have to HAVE a machine gun. This does not make their semi auto pistol into a machine gun, and there is no legal way for them to convert their pistol to a machine gun. They look so similar, but there’s a night-and-day difference in function andin possession requirements and, of course, in price.”But for the folks who own legal M11/9 machine guns, it gives them the ability to literally have an AM180 “D” version gun without having to spend $8k to get it. It’s a no brainer.”The AM15 Upper Receiver has a flattop style top cover that works well with an Eotech or comparable optic sight (which are not included with the AM15 Upper Receiver Conversion). The AM15 Upper Receiver comes standard with a quad mount ventilated barrel rail system which will allow the user to install any optional AR accessories of their choice on either of the 4 different mounting rails. The full auto 9.5 inch barrel is threaded 1/2×28-.400 and will accept AR flashhiders or full auto rated suppressors. The complete AM15 Upper Receiver assembly, open bolt fire control parts, recoil buffer assembly, along with one 165-round drum, winder and barrel with quadrail and no sights is anticipated to sell for $1395 plus $20 UPS shipping. The MAC-11 is the 380 version of the Gordon B. Ingram’s M10 in 9mm. Wheatley said, “ATF has already signed off on the AM15 design and we’ve been selling them for M16 machine guns for some time. The M11 is the same thing, just different host gun.”
