(GunReports.com) — One of the cool guns we’ve been watching is the HTI Sniper Rifle, which is finally in production. HTI stands for Hard Target Interdiction weapon.
The HTI sniper rifle is a convertible multi-caliber extreme range Hard Target Interdiction weapon. Caliber options include .50 BMG, .416 Barrett, .408 Cheytac, and .375 Cheytac.
All chamberings deliver hard target penetration characteristics with effective ranges exceeding 2000 yards. This rifle is built to engage targets at extreme distance, behind cover, or stop a vehicle in its tracks.
A sniper now has the option to fire the high-precision/low-recoil .375 Cheytac then switch to .50 BMG to deliver Armor Piercing, Tracer, or Incendiary payload ammunition.
The HTI sniper rifle features match grade free-floating and fluted barrels, chambers and crowns, high quality adjustable trigger and repeatable return-to-zero barrel mounting system. The HTI’s bullpup design makes it 12 pounds lighter and 12 inches shorter than the US M82A1 50 BMG rifle currently in service.
